Beautiful Family

I am so excited to be working on these portraits! They are such a handsome family, their children are vibrant and full of love, and the mom's sister is one of my closest friends! How could I possibly curb my enthusiasm? We had perfect weather in a perfect location on top of it all. Sometimes everything just falls into place.

What a handsome family is right! Love these pics, you caught a bit of mischievous glint in the oldest child I think! :). You did justice to this family as usual, I love your use of light.

Thanks for the comment about light. I've been working really hard to capture light more intentionally. That last photo was basically a bare bulb - my sb-800 on a light stand with a little plastic diffuser thingy on it, pointed straight up. No umbrella, no nothing. It was partly an accident - we were waiting around for someone and I wasn't really intending to shoot anything right then. But I saw those bricks and wanted that shot! So I worked quickly and used what I had ready. The others were natural light only - no supplement on my part. That session was smooth as silk...
